Award Winners

Award winners for 2018:

Association of Occupational Therapists (Gujarat) conferred the awards to the champions OTs for their contributions in the development and visibility of the profession. The awards were given in an event at Govt. Spine Institute, Ahmedabad to commemorate World Occupational Therapy day on October 27, 2018. The recipients of the awards are:

Life Time Achievement Award

Dr. Veena Ramnani won ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ for her outstanding contribution to the profession for over 20+ years. She has contributed significantly in cancer rehabilitation, practiced various alternative approaches like Reiki, Healing, Dry Needling, Yoga/meditation, Naturopathy etc. She is first OT to run her own multidisciplinary clinic named as Veena Rehabilitation Centre in Ahmedabad since 15+ years where complex physical health issues are addressed.

Occupational Therapy Excellence Award

Dr. Shweta Saxena received the 'Occupational Therapy Excellence Award'. She has been a great resource to Occupational Therapy in Gujarat. With over 20 years of experience in Paediatrics which includes service to KGP Children Hospital (Vadodara) for years, now she owns her own clinic named ‘Prayaas Paediatric Therapy Centre’ in Vadodara for special paediatric population.

Dr. Pushpaben Mankad Award for Best OT

Dr. Mukund Bhatt won 'Dr. Pushpaben Mankad Award for Best OT'. He has been a lecturer in OT college, Anand for 4 years. He owns 2 OT centres in Kutch within 2 years of his practice. He employs significant number of OTs in his centres.

The Young Achiever Award

Dr. Devraj Trivedi received 'The Young Achiever Award'. His dynamic personality has given him grand success in very young age. He has founded ANOORA (School for special kids), iPCU (Physio-Occupational Therapy Center). He is also a director of SVS English medium School and Trustee of Shree Shakuntal Educational Trust.

Dr. Waseem Patel won ‘The Young Achiever Award’ for his exceptional contribution to Occupational Therapy. He has led OT services in Shishu Child Development and Early Intervention Center brilliantly. He has been a great ambassador of the profession in very young age.
